Like most PTAs, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. Since our inception in 2007, our calendar of events has been continuously enriched, with one event or another happening now almost every week. While raising money is very important, the icing on the cake is seeing the children having fun at the events or enjoying using a piece of new equipment that the PCSA has donated.
We are fortunate, however, to have other opportunities open to us to raise money. Donations are extremely important. These can be time, money, items for sale, donations for raffles or offers of services and skills.
Once money is raised at our events, the funds are banked straight away. Decisions on how to spend the money are made at our PCSA meetings, which everyone is welcome to attend.
The PCSA funds are for the ‘extras’ not provided by the school budget that make our children’s learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting, for example books, but also new playground equipment, science shows etc.
The money we raise is spent fairly quickly; that way you can be sure that in supporting our school, your children will feel the benefit, along with everybody else.
Since the PCSA was set up during the summer of 2007 we have used a lot of the money we have raised, thanks to your generosity and help, for a variety of goals. From school events like Sports Days and Year 6 Sleepovers, through to buying books for the school library and class book corners, to quite expensive sports or playground equipment – our expenses are only limited by what the school and our children really need!
