3. Treasurer’s Report

Breakdown of fundraising for the last full financial year (September 2022 to August 2023) - £17,578.32 fundraising and £2,293.64 expenses. The Summer Fair raised £3,063.

This year, the Halloween trail raised £408, Family Rave £955, Festive Fair £5,112, Christmas Cards £376 and we received a donation of £250 from the employer of a Year 1 parent, Stephen Carter-McLeod.

Thanks to Tania Park for raising it, we have also received £5,487 from HMRC by claiming Gift Aid from donations referring back to the past 4 years.

In expenses, the PCSA paid for the Christmas crackers for the school lunch - £243, also a donated £94 to the gardening club and other general expenses are at £640 (which include the new PCSA board outside the school). We also transferred £10,000 to the school to support the first stage of the KS1 playground build.

The full breakdown can be found in the attachment below.

4. Festive Fair and previous events

Emily raised some points of what we learnt from Festive Fair

  • Circulate info earlier about what is included in all inclusive games pass and send information about fair ahead of time for everyone to know what is happening and when. Game pass will stay as all agreed it was good value. For next Festive Fair, better information about Santa to avoid disappointments.
  • More volunteers are needed, Emily to provide more information to class reps in due course.
  • Parents loved coffee and pizza but would like more variety. Emily talking to Cheeky Pea.
  • Emily to share cover letter for fundraising to be shared with various businesses for donations for KS1 playground.
  • Parents loved Rave and Bingo night.

5. Future events and AOB

  • Another first aider is required for events, Dominika to let Emily know when she completes her First Aid Course.
  • Confirm date amendment for the Y5 & 6 disco and end of term picnic.
  • PCSA plan to send out a poll in June for people to vote favourite event ideas for us to then make next years calendar of events, this idea was dropped and we decided that events will stay as planned this year and repeat after.
  • Do we want to run a poster competition for the summer fair? No definite answer.
  • Do we want to add an Easter Egg hunt (like the Halloween one), can anyone take that over? No decision was made.
  • Other ideas for donation days – i.e. inside out day and what people donate, white t-shirt donations for possibly tie die weekend and to later sell items at the Summer Fair.
  • Raffle and auction prizes, get on the case now.
  • Suggest people get onto securing volunteers now for a min 1hr volunteer slot at a time, Emily to provide more information to class reps in due course.
  • Re-cap of dates for 2024, please see below.
