Fashion Fabulous!

Dear Parents & Carers,

Wow! What a week it has been...

Year 1 soared to the top of the leader board with an impressive £311.84 on the cake sale on Friday, proving just how essential these are to our fundraising efforts! Thank you to year 1 and to all those who treated themselves to a cake!

We also had our first Sustainable Fashion show on Sunday. It really was wonderful to see the creativity of the children. There were a few who were incredibly nervous on the day but they overcame their fear and put on such a wonderful show (I felt a bit emotional!). Seeing the celebrations backstage once the show was over was really rewarding. And, as always, lovely to see the King Athelstan PCSA community coming together for something. Some lucky individuals walked away with some great raffle prizes, including Doc Martens, Stella McCartney jumper and sewing and art kits! We raised a further £669.96!!

If you missed out on this then don’t worry, the next PCSA event is not far away! Thursday 16th May will see how much we, as parents, know at our Quiz night!! Tickets include a sharing platter dinner per table and there will be a pay bar available.

Finally, I am pleased to announce the winning artwork for the Summer Fair Poster competition. The PCSA got it down to 10 finalists and, with the help of Miss Newton, we can announce the winning design by Yasmin from Kahlo, Year 6. We will be using this as the template for the poster and adding information about the day soon. In second place we had Elsie from Year 1, Van Gogh and in third place we had Ege from Year 5, Dali. Well done to both of them. I will put all three designs in the PCSA noticeboard by the end of the week for people to see.

We had a lot of beautiful and imaginative submissions so we will be creating a display of ALL the artworks at the summer fair for you to see. We may even incorporate some others in the signage on the day, so keep a look out.

Thank you!
