What we do

How do we raise money?

The majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. While raising money is very important, we really want the events to be fun and an opportunity for both the kids and parents to have fun!

We have already set the dates for some of the bigger events for 23/24. Find them in the 'What's On' page and add them to your calendars!! And if you think you might have, even the smallest availability to help at any of them, please let us know.

As a registered charity there are also lots of ways in which companies can donate. Speak to your work and see if we might be eligible for any of their yearly charitable allowance. Donations can be made here https://www.givey.com/bigoutdoors. If you need more detailed information on the charity for your company then please email the Treasurer at kapcsatreasurer@gmail.com.

Donations are extremely important and don’t all have to be monetary, time, items for sale, donations for raffles or offers of services and skills are also greatly appreciated.

How do we spend the money?

The majority of the money we currently raise is saved to support the progress of the KS1 Playground, but we’re also keeping back an amount after each ‘bigger’ event to help support the school with classroom equipment, activities and trips.

Decisions on how to spend the money are made at our PCSA meetings, which everyone is welcome to attend.

The PCSA funds are for the ‘extras’ not provided by the school budget that make our children’s learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting, for example books, but also new playground equipment, science shows etc.

What have we done?

Since the PCSA was set up during the summer of 2007 we have used a lot of the money we have raised, thanks to your generosity and help, for a variety of goals. From school events like Sports Days and Year 6 Sleepovers, through to buying books for the school library, class book corners and quite expensive sports or playground equipment. We hope to be able to continue to support the school for many years to come.
